Jazz

Umbria Jazz is renowned for its combination of excellent music and spectacular historic settings. The festival takes place every year in mid-July, in the medieval centre of the town of Perugia. The programme starts early each day and continues well into the night, and for ten days it offers music for all tastes, from traditional jazz to the most recent innovations. Many of these concerts continue to be free.

Since 1992 Umbria Jazz has also organized a winter festival, between Christmas and New Year, in the Etruscan town of Orvieto. The reasons for the success of Umbria Jazz Winter are the same as for the summer festival: Umbrian hospitality, the region’s architectural and artistic beauty, its fine food and wine and, of course, excellent jazz!
